Welcome to The LAUNDRe Mat®—DC’s new community-first laundromat.
We’re building a fast, tech-forward laundry experience for everyone—while also partnering with our sister nonprofit, The LAUNDRe for LIFe Foundation®, to make sure underserved neighbors get free and affordable access when they need it most.

Our Mission & Values

The LAUNDRe Mat® is a modern, high-tech laundromat designed to serve everyday customers and underserved communities through a one-of-a-kind hybrid model—LAUNDRe ReStructured®.

 

This mission-driven model combines the efficiency of a private laundry business with the social mission of our sister nonprofit, The LAUNDRe for LIFe Foundation®. Together, we’re bringing dignity back to the basics.

Why It Matters:

  • Clean clothing affects dignity, mental health, school attendance, health, and job readiness

  • Hygiene poverty is the unseen crisis that leads to unmet needs

  • Basic needs are a human right

  • Clean laundry should NOT be a luxury

  • DC has fewer laundromats than many major cities

  • We are addressing laundry deserts across DC
